It’s not about going backward. It’s about learning from our distributed systems adventure and choosing the simplest architecture that could possibly work—for now, and for the foreseeable future. Because in the end, the best architecture is the one that lets your team deliver value fastest, with the least unnecessary friction. And right now, for a lot of us, that’s looking a lot more modular, and a little less micro.
